static shock = bad problem

hello

sometimes when im djing in my room or at a house party ill build up static and when i touch my rmx it shocks it and then all the controlls die (nothing works when you push a button or a slider) and you have to close the program and then re open it to let it work normally.... is this a common problem ? is there a way to fix it ? i dont know what to do and it sucks having to restart traktor every time it happens....

someone let me know please and any ideas / suggestions or tips would be great !

hello shay,

if your issue is an electrostatic shock when you touch the rmx, a solution be to:
- on the rear panel, remove the screw attaching the aluminium cover (close to the usb port)
- wind up a thin coper cable (360 degrees) on the screw, and reput in its original position the screw on the aluminium cover
- wind up the other side of the copper cable to the ground screw on the input 1-2.
