hi,

ive read in a few places that the centre faceplate on the steel is removeable.
does anyone know how to remove it? i can see the bolts that hold it on but id need to take the knobs and faders off.

also, do you know if it voids warranty?

hi dannywilson,

yes the gray aluminium painted faceplate is removeable. to remove it you have to remove first the 6 eq plastic knobs (potentiometers cover) and the 3 plastic fader cups (faders cover). then you can unscrew the 9 screws on maintaing the faceplate on the metal casing.
then you should be able to remove it.

it does not void the warranty if you just remove the 9 screws maintaing the faceplate. the second thing is that you must keep the faceplate and the screws with you in order to put them back on the product if you need to return it one day otherwise it will voids the warranty.

is there any technique to getting the knobs and faders off or is it just a case of prying them off carefully?

cheers

hello dannywilson,

you can try to use a plastic pen cap (generally they have a quite long thin plastic part)  that you place under the knob cap (at the basis between the knob and the steel plate) to take them of. a thin plastic part placed under the basis of the knob  can help you to remove it carefyully.
you can use any kind of plastic tool to extract the knobs and faders caps in order not to damage the knobs and your dj controler.
