i am using virtual dj and the hercules dj console 4-mx.  the dj console 4-mx is not working properly as midi controller.  when i slide the crossfader to the right, the crossfader stays, and when i slide it all the way to the left, it does not stay unless i physically hold the crossfader down and it shows the crossfader jumping around mainly going to the left.  i also used midi monitor and it shows some of the controls not working properly.  can anybody please show me if this can be fixed?

Hello,

Please precise your computer configuration in your profile (My Space > My profile > Describe your equipment) so that we see if the MIDI issue may be related to your computer.
If MIDI monitor shows some controls not working properly, please precise which controls, in addition to the crosfader.

I added the request information to my profile page.   Please advise.
I added:

I have a 64 bit 4 GB of memory Windows 7 PC.  I tested the mixer in Ableton and the same thing happened.

When I slide the crossfader to the right, the crossfader stays, and when I slide it all the way to the left, it does not stay unless I physically hold the crossfader down and it shows the crossfader jumping around mainly going to the left.  I also used Midi Monitor and it shows some of the controls not working properly.

However, when I tried another cheaper midi mixer that I have in Virtual DJ and in Ableton, it works prorperly with my PC.

From my tests, it seems as if the DJ Console 4-Mx crossfader is not working properly midi wise.

What you suggest that I try next?  Hercules support said that I could replace it.  I do a lot of scratching and cutting and I need the cross fader to be able to work in that setting.

Note:  The only thing that is not working is the crossfader.

Please advise.

Hello,

I suggest you call the tech support at the number here to get the conditions to exchange the crossfader.
