i just recieved my console mk4, it was purchased from thomann.de and as it is european it came to me with virtual dj, the think is that i have vdj 6 pro full and it won`t work with it, or may be it will i will reinstall it very soon and try again, but it`s not the problem.
i got from a friend traktor pro/scratch 2.0.3. full version he has the audio contorl8 so he gave me a copy to try it, but it wont start also...i downloaded the tp2 map, i did everything by the manual, and it wont start again...the sound is coming out no problem with that, but i can not control the internal mixer or the play/cue buttons or any other button.
when i start the song manually, after loading it manually i can hear the sound from the 1/2 output just fine but no control available.
can you help me?
thank you, i can also try with traktor 1.2.5 also but i think that the result will be the same, because a week ago before buying the console a friend of mine gave me the mk2 and i alsko could not start it with the traktor software, but it worked just fine with my vdj 6 pro.
the mk4 works ok with the vdjc software on the cd that i recieved.
what can i do to run it on the traktor pro 1.2.5 or 2.0.3?

1) Regarding VDJ, it depends on your VDJ 6 Pro version. I think VDJ 6.0.6 Pro and higher include a map of DJ Console Mk4.
2) For the Traktor Maps
- check in DJ Console Mk4 control panel if the MIDI channel in use in Channel 1
- the MIDI Maps you can download here for Mk4 in Traktor are for Traktor Pro 1.27 (and higher) and Traktor Pro 2.0.1 (and higher), but they both need the Mk4 to be set on MIDI channel 1.
I have Traktor Scratch Pro 2.0.3 full version
it is on Default midi 1 and I`ll try the traktor 1.27 map...on it but I doubt it`d work...hm....I`ve run out of ideas!
For what I see it is that, the traktor does not remember that I`ve set the mappings for the mk4,because everytime i open the settings window I see that the audio settings are fine but on the mapper it is always the keyboard instead of hercules dj console mk4
This is perfectly normal. The keyboard always appears as the default controller, but any other listed (such as the MK4) should also be functionnal when configured:
So what I did now and find it very strange is that:
I installed Tracktor 2 Pro Demo on my laptop the version is 2.0.3. configured everything and used the Map file...not working.
I did the same on my GF`s Laptop wich runs on XP, my runs on Win7, so I did the same on hers laptop...works like HELL!!! just the play button is not assigned correctly but other than that is OK...so the problem is not the version(because I did the same with Tracktor Pro 1.2.4.) but it is simething to do with my laptop...a week ago I had the same Experience with the Hercules MK2...working ok with the VDJ but not working at all with the TSP...hm...suggestions?
Some issues with Traktor for sure (which works fine under Windows 7 btw).
Does MIDI work outside of Tratkor, for exemple when doing the following test ?

(you may need to right-click on the MIDI Monitor icon and select Run as Administrator to get it to run properly)
I run the drivers as administrator, checked if the midi is working properly it is...changed the drivers for the console to the newest one, than turn back to tha old version, try everything but...I can not understand why this is happening...may be it is an issue with the software...ebcause as a soundcard the MK4 is working fine with the traktor, but as a midi...every time i open the settings menu and go to controller mappings...its always using the keyboard but not the console...
This is perfectly normal for the keyboard (the default commun coontroller) to appear as the device when you open Controller Mananger, but it doesn't mean other controllers aren't active.
