today i played a gig using my hercules rmx. i used the original vdj that came with the rmx and it worked flawlessly. when i tried to use the rmx with the newest version of vdj (6.01) well thats when the fun began. the on-screen simulation of what im doing on the rmx is very delayed. the music playing is filled with stutters & burps. whats the issue & even more importantly, whats the fix?...or am i suppose to just use the version of vdj that came with the rmx? thanx! -z-
ps im using xp on a suped lenovo think pad with way fast enough processor, and tons of ram. again the rmx worked flawlessly with original version of vdj that came with it. thanx! -z-
version 6 of vdj incorporated a lot of changes, so its possible certain little bugs havent been irond out yet. in any case, posting on the vdj forum would certainly be uselfull for their development team.
one change that seems to be making a difference for a lot of people is to disable safe mode in performance > sound card of the vdj configuration.
i downloaded a hercules driver update. after the process i tested everything out so as to make sure i didnt end up just downloading disaster. during that process i accidentally clicked on the restore down icon on the upper highland side of the window. boom, just as the window became slightly smaller, all the functions of the controller on the computer screen mirrored the actions of the hercules controller in real time.
the tiny audio hiccups continue. i tried the same songs on pcdj so as to make sure what i was hearing wasnt somehow part of the mp3 file itself. no hiccups when running same songs on pcdj (pcdj red 5.2). ill definitely try those other suggestions. thanx again -z-
my rmx, with latest drivers, seemed fine with vdj6. ill give it a whirl again over the next couple days though. i know sound quality is much improved in vdj6. not certain that its improved enough to get me off traktor, but well see after more testing.
