Did you try the installation using the latest drivers (2010.HDJS.2) or the ones provided on your CD ?

Have you tried installing the Rmx on another USB port or another cable?

What is the exact error message in Device Manager ?

Are certains components of the Rmx installed at all ?

Everything is installed, but the 'bulk' and the 'Asio' devices are with a yellow '!'

I can't even open the control panel!

Windows has detected a problem with your device, it is not working properly.

Try this:

- Press the MIC On/Off button, and while holding it, connect the USB cable to the Rmx.

Normally, the bulk driver should be redetected ( and installed) and the firmware updater should appear ( simply follow the instructions).

If that doesn't work, I guess You'll have to go all the way:

Do you have any possibility of trying it on another computer to see if you get similar results ?

On my other pc does it work, but on my laptop it has been working, but when i tried updating for working with the VDJ 6 Serie, it doesn't works anymore...

So the Device isn't broken, the cable is doing well, it just my laptop....

This is good news. At least we know that it's not a hardware problem wit the console.

What I would suggest for your Vista laptop:

1) Uninstall the drivers as you normally would.

2) Run a software like CCleaner ( http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner) to clean and fix registry entry that could be causing problems on the system.

3) Install the latest Windows updates ( if you haven't already)

4) reboot the computer

5) Disable all antivirus and protection softwares you may have running, make sure you have administrator privileges and try the installation of the drivers again.

🙁

The bulkdrivers are installed well, but there is still no contact between my laptop and the RMX...

In device manager, I see an error with Unknown devices, and than the Hercules DJ Console RMX with an erroricon...

by the way, now I couldt open the "C:\Program Files\Hercules\Audio\DJ Console Series\firmware\HDJSeriesUpdater.exe" –manual file... "Error MSG File" or something...

And if you disconnect the Rmx, do you still have problematic devices in Device Manager ?

If this is the case, then that could be part of the problem.

If everything is fine, then let's try something else.

Simply connect the Rmx to another USB port. What happens ?

If some of the devices still show Yellow !, try a manual installation:

- Right -click on the device and select Update Driver Software

- then select Browse my computer...

- Next, Let me pick the driver..., then click on Have Disk

- Browse to the driver installation folder:

C:/Program Files/Hercules/Audio/DJ Console Series/drivers

Click OK to complete the browsing process and go back to the installation window, then proceed withthe manual installation.

Driver error is: the system is unable to find the specified file...

Is that the error you get for all components that have a yellow ! in Device Manager ?

I'm starting to think there might be some problems with your Vista installation...

You have Service Pack 2 installed for Vista I hope ?

Ah! From your initial post, it sounded like you had just bought the Rmx and were trying to install it for the first time...This makes a big difference then.

What happened between the moment when it was working and now ?

I tried to update my drivers for VDJ 6.0, so I deleted all Hercules drivers, and now it won't work on the newest drivers, and on the old drivers...

Can you check the properties for the following file:

- Wdf01000.sys

- WdfLdr.sys

You will find these files in

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\

In the DETAILS tab, what is the version for each of the files?

If these files are hidden ( they normally should be) , follow these instructions:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/windows-vista/Show-hidden-files
