virtual dj 8 and hercules rmx eq not working

when turning the bass, medium and treble completely down or even when using the kill buttons, you still hear the music. it lowers it a bit, but it is actually too loud, kill means kill and i should not hear anything.

i de-installed vdj completely and reinstalled it, but you still hear music even after these buttons are lowered or killed.

do you know what other configuration to set in vdj 8 as hearing the music which is supposed to be killed is very annoying.
