I must reprogram the Eeprom of a bricked rmx (flashing leds when connected to any computer), I have the .bin file, but the guy that will do the reprogramming, asks about the format (blocks size) to write the Eeprom. Anyone have this info or can tell about successful reprogramming experience?
Thanks in advance.
Hello MFernandez,
Welcome to the community area.
You should program the eeprom in a 8K block (the eeprom is organized in a single block of 8 K x 8-bit memory).
Eeprom programming software usually propose by default the good format by default when they detect the eeprom.
Eeprom programmed in that format, console assembled and it keeps doing the same thing: the LEDs blinks. Is it possible that this is not the required format? Any suggestion?
Thank you so much.
Hello MFernandez,
1) What is the name firmware file you have uploaded in the eeprom?
Is it RMX_TUSB_v32.BIN?
2) What is the computer operating system on which you have connected your DJ controller?
3) What is the USB cable used to connect the DJ controller? How long is it?
1) RMX_TUSB_v32.BIN, with date 10/29/2014. Can you send it again? Or is there a newer one?
2) Tried in Windows 10 and Windows 7
3) Tried with two cables: 1 mt and 0.6 mt.
Maybe wrong write format?
The only fault that causes the LEDs to blink is when the firmware is bad? Or are there other failures that can cause the same thing?
If it is a firmware failure, I am considering purchasing a eeprom programmer, so I can try different writing formats.
Thanks in advance.
Hello MFernandez,
1) I can send you again the RMX_TUSB_v32.BIN file (I send it now in private message) but the one you have is the last version.
2) The firmware blink when the controller does not properly boot when connected to the computer, it is not especially a firmware issue, it can be a hardware issue, or a power issue.
Hello MFernandez,
I have a probably stupid question but have you installed on your computer DJ Console Rmx drivers
(from https://support.hercules.com/en/product/djconsolermx-en/ )
DJ Console Rmx is not a class compliant MIDI device, so if no drivers are installed in Windows/macOS, it blinks.
