Delayed output via laptop speakers

I am using Hercules DJ Controler Inpulse 300 with my Lenovo Legion 5 series gaming laptop and Pioneer HDJ Cue1 headset plugged into the DJ Controler. Settings in Djuced (version 6.3.3 nuild fc0d1ec8) are as follows: the audio device is set to 'DJ Control Inpulse 300 ASIO (ASIO)', output parameters are 'Master - Outputs 1&2' and 'Headphones - Outputs 3&4', and the 'Send master to computer speakers' is set to 'Speakers (Realtek(R) Audio). There are no external speakers attached to the controller's RCA output.

The issue that I am facing is related to delay in the audio output via my lapto speakers. When I am playing the music, the audio output via my laptop speakers is delayed by 0.5-1 sec compared to the cue in my headphones. This delay makes it really difficult to manually beatmatch. I am not sure what is causing this issue. Please help!

Hi,

It is unsurprising Realtek audio device has more latency than the DJ controller ASIO audio device

- ASIO protocol is intended to reduce latency compared to Windows system WDM protocol,

- as Djuced app audio device is DJControl Inpulse 300 ASIO, the app audio is set for 441000 24-bit, and it may be resampled for Realtek sample rate.

You may reduce (not suppress) Realtek audio latency in setting Realtek sample rate on 24-bit 44100 Hz.

In case your PC uses Windows 11, you may change Realtek sample rate in: the following process

  • right click on Windows icon in the task bar
  • Settings
  • System
  • Sound
  • Advanced: All sound devices
  • Output devices: Speakers
  • Realtek Audio
  • Output settings: Format: "24 bit, 44100 Hz" (or "16 bit, 44100 Hz")

If you cannot change Realtek sample rate, make sure to close any other app using Realtek audio in the background, including virtual audio devices as spatial sound, Dolby Atmos...

I guess you also ask the same question on DJUCED reddit 🙂

Anyway, another advice I can give you is to find any software like "Dolby Atmos" or "7.1" or any other bloatware installed by default with your computer and uninstall them.
