When you press shift n one the pads example
If you press shift n say cue button to delete a cue point
the song will start skipping.
Using Mac i7 processor 16 gig ram
240 gig ssd hd
Tried restarting changing cables same result

- your version of macOS, the year of your computer,
- at which moment the track starts skipping (at the moment you press Shift, at the moment you press Shift+Hot Cue pad, at the moment you release Hot Cue pad)
- whether a specific mode is engaged as Sync, Stems, ....

I have tried to duplicate the behaviour you describe, I did not get what you describe but I get this behavior with automated Synchro when tracks have very different BPMs.
Do you get this song skipping whether there is a sync or no sync?
Have you an external drive connected to the computer? If yes, can you check if this skipping occurs after disconnecting the external hard disk?
