Hi,
I just want to share my setup that improved my experience with the DJControl Mix Ultra that I use for camping (all gears carried in the backpack).
- The most useful accessory is ZOOM AMS-24
This audio interface, connected to the iPhone via USB-C allows to control the volume of the CUE and master output independantly and have both CUE and master as stereo output at the same time.
2. Minirig 4 speakers and subwoofer
Those speakers are small yet powerful and have a line-in input for zero latency. They can be daisy chained.
3. Splitter USB-C cable for powering the phone and the audio interface.
A splitter cable with UCB-C audio and USB-C power separated allows for charging the phone while DJing for longer sets.
4. Cheap IEMs
A pair of cheap IEMs are great because you can cue songs, hear your mix in a better quality that through the speakers and they are light and small. I am currently using the Truthhear ZERO:BLUE2
5. 4x powerbanks !
I am using one power bank per speaker/sub and one for the phone. This gives me many hours of DJing ... (actual time yet to be tested).
REMAPPING :
I am using DJAY PRO and here are the following modifications I made to the mapping to improve the experience :
- I remapped the Pitch Play to become beat jump because I use this all the time to quickly set cue points
- I use the crossfader as a MASTER/CUE mixer for the headphones. I never use the crossfader for DJing and this allows me to quickly swift from MASTER to CUE on the headphones.
I hope other users can share their setup as well !
Cheers,
Jo
Hello SVolto,
Thanks for your feedback, I have update the message to add the links to Zoom AMS-24 and to Minirig 4.
