Hi everyone, I bought the DJMONITOR 32 speakers days ago, i connected them to my external soundcard (AUDIENT iD14) but they don't seem to play any sound. I'm wondering if I connected something in the wrong way or if I didn't connect at all something that should have been plugged in. I'm really lost here, I'd appreciate any help! Thanks 🙂
Hello Giulia,
Welcome to the community area.
It may help if you can describe:
a) your configuration:
- Model of Audient ID4: 1st or MK2 model?
- How you connect DJMonitor 32 speakers to Audient ID4?
If you connect to Audient ID4 Main output (double Jack on rear), do you use a dual jack to dual RCA cable in that style? https://www.thomann.fr/intl/the_sssnake_spr2015.htm
If you connect to the other output (headphones output), can you precise if you set the Monitor Mix to DAW (to play to the computer sound) or to Input (to play the sound from the input), and if you try to play the sound from the input, I suppose you connect a guitar on the guitar input.
b) your test: what did you test in what software?
In Windows, Audient ID4 are known for needing to be disconnected/reconnected to the computer after the computer wakes up on some computers (it is not due to the computer, but to Windows USB power saving mode). Did you do it?
It's and Audient iD14 MK2.
To connect the Audient to the Speakers (double Jack on rear) i used two RCA to Jack 6.35 mm cables.
I tried some tests by playing music on Spotify and trying to switch to different outputs on the Monitor Mix, I even tried to swtich ports since there are two different ports for RCA-L and RCA-R respectively. I tried switching outputs from my computer too and still didn't work. :/
Are there any drivers/firmware versions i should upgrade? (i already upgraded the Audient firmware to the latest version)
Hello,
DJMonitor 32 are analog speakers, so there is no built-in firmware.
I do not understand why you provide no technical information nor completely describe the test you do: no one on the forum can see or hears the computer so if you cannot share technical information, if may takes months or to solve a problem which would be identified in 5 minutes if you accepted to share the technical information instead of this reluctance.
Have you connected headphones in your Audient ID4 MK2?
If yes, do you hear sound in these headphones?
If yes, can you
- remove the headphones
- connect to the Audient iD 14 MK2 1/8" headphones output the 1/8" to dual RCA cable included in DJMonitor 32 box
- connect the dual RCA output of this cable to the DJMonitor 32 stereo audio input,
- and test if you hear sound in the speakers?
If you are not at ease with technical specification as
- the brand / model of audio cable,
- the brand/model of computer and the version of Windows,
- and DESCRIBING what you do ("I tried switching outputs from my computer too and still didn't work. :/" : there are thousands ways of doing it, so describing is needed).
it may be more easy to contact the technical support on https://support.hercules.com/en/contact-en/ as they will TALK to you and you may answer in real time to their questions.
