Hello,

Reading the post I almost made my choice with the next Hercules DJcontrol Mix on battery...

But I understand I have to use the DJay App on my Ipad or Iphone.

Since I have only Deezer or Qobuz who are not supported I find that Tidal + extension is quite expensive (20€ / month) for 5 parties / Year...

What would you suggest ?

I really like the size of the Hercules (you can easily bring it everywhere).

Do I have to move my entire library to files ? or a internet drive is ok ? Or a USB Hard Drive ?

I am lost....

Hello Charlie_73,

Welcome to the community area.

With djay app on iPhone/iPad, you can play music tracks from:
1) iPhone/iPad internal storage: if you host parties, storing some tracks locally is a security option as you cannot know if your streaming access will be constantly OK,
2) iCloud: you can store tracks on iCloud, and play/sync tracks with your iOS device,
3) Apple Music: Apple Music subscription provides a large library with a great audio quality for a reasonable price,
4) Tidal + DJ Extension (US$ 10.99 + 9.00 / month): 2 benefits for DJs = supporting stems and tags OK for DJing (Apple Music tracks are not tagged for DJing and cannot support stems)
5) Beatsource (US$ 12.99) or Beatport Advanced (US$ 15.99/month): their catalogs are more limited, they fit with specific DJ styles
6) SoundCloud Go +

Each streaming provider has pros and cons:
- Apple Music and Tidal: pro = largest catalogue / cons = Apple Music works only in djay (out of reach in Serato, Djuced or rekordbox...), and Tidal is more expensive,
- Beatsource & Beatport: pro = top quality of tags and playlists for DJs / cons = limited catalogue,
- SoundCloud Go+: pro = available in all DJ app / cons = poor audio quality and bad sorting of most tracks.

Just consider you cannot rely only at 100% on streaming services
- sometimes the access is slow,
- sometimes the mobile phone signal is low,
- sometimes the track you planned to play has been moved or removed from the streaming platform,
so to host parties, you must secure tracks on your local storage, and consider the access to online contents as a bonus.
