Hello,
I installed the Hercules DJ control mp3 e2 on my PC (windows 11). After that, the Virtual DJ software. And it works flawless.
So far, so good.
But: I have a 3rd party software (n4py456.exe) and this software normally works with the DJ Controler via midi.
If I open the n4py-software (ham software for radio control), the DJ control isn't respondig.
Do I need another driver for win11?
Any help is appreciated....
The infos about the DJ control MP3 e2:
Paket: 4.HDJS.2009
Firmware: 1.0.1.9
Driver: 4.9.1.0
DJ API: 2.0.18.7
CPL: 2.0.5.1

Hello Bernd,
Welcome to the community area.
I do not know N4PY so I do not know what this application expects but you may check 2 settings:
- close other DJ software before starting N4PY (if the MIDI device is locked by another app, it may be unavailable for N4PY)
- check DJ Control MP3 e2 is on default MIDI channel (1 in Windows) since its mapping in N4PY may be valid only on channel 1.
I made the settings as advised.
I switch on my PC, start the Radio software first, after that, I start the N4PY software.
N4PY connects automatically with my radio device software.
After that, the DJ controler should connect via midi with the N4PY software in the background.
But it still doesn't.
Are there any new drivers avaialble for win11?
I installed the DJ Controler software from the original CD, that comes with the Hercules console.
The N4PY software is a special software for connecting ham radio hardware t othe Hercules DJ controler.
Gruß Bernd
Hello Bernd,
For sure you use old driver.
The last generation of drivers for Windows 11 are 2023-HDJS_2
https://support.hercules.com/en/product/djcontrolmp3e2-en/
I installed the 2023_HDJS_2.exe and can't start the DJ controler any more.
And can't find it in the Device Manger anymore.
The 3rd party program shows: DJ Contoler not found
I suppose, before I installed the new driver, the 3rd party program must have found my controler. That's very strange, because they haven't worked together.
Hello Bernd,
Can you try with 2020_HDJS_1 driver package?
It is for Windows 7 & 8 but should work for Windows 10 and 11.
I tried all the drivers, from new to old. And I was very surprised, that the 2016_HJDS_3 driver works properly with my DJ Controler AND the 3rd party program.
You made my day!!! Thank You so much, I'm very happy with it now.
Hello Bernd,
Thanks for the feedback. It is unsure whether the change between the driver version is a ressource included in 1 driver package or a preset matching the software, anyway, it is a good piece of news it works.
As you have probably read on the support page, DJ Control MP3 e2 is not supported on AMD USB 3.1 host chipset (DJ Control MP3 e2 is older than USB 3.1) , so it is good it still works on your computer, but if you want to use it on another computer, it may not be detected if this computer has a AMD USB 3.1 host chipset or higher that USB USB 3.1. It still work on today's Intel USB 3.x hosts.
