- laptop sound messed up. help required

hey everyone, just joined up today and this is my first post so please be gentle.

today i got myself the hercules rmx2, and everything is working ok with it, but ive noticed that since installing the drivers and programs that the sound on my laptop has totally messed up.

if i listen via the laptops built in speakers or with my headphones plugged directly into the laptop, there is no bass at all, and it all sounds pretty tinny and crap. does anybody know how i can fix this?

im not very techy minded, and really need this sorted asap.
