its really kinda important that the adjustment be smooth for a good smooth transition..but it jumps abruptly when adjusting while the track is playing. my mp3 e2 didnt have this issue. would there be a fix for that?

Please check the behavior of your EQ controls as described in the following procedure:

If the transition is not smooth (meaning that it seems to jump over values instead of going from 0 to 127), then there might be a hardware problem with your unit that would require a replacement.
