dj air for ipad - not enough power

hi i continue to get a “not enough power” message when i connect  controler air for ipad connects to ipad via camera adapter?  the djuiced app opens but the control doesn’t respond.  how can this be solved?

i even bought camera adapter where you use both usb and lightening cable to charge at the same time, but still get same message
