help configuring dj control instict-traktor

hello,
i have recently bought dj control instict and i find difficulties in using it with traktor scratch pro 2. i figured out how to configure the mapping and the jog wheels but i cant find how to configure the sample buttons. i have 4 samples loaded in the remix deck (c and d deck as recommended) but if i press 1,2,3 or 4 button when sample is selected,nothing happens. it is quite frustrating. i havent bought a console to use traktor without it. can someone please help me to figure it out?
(im new with this stuff so if i speak craps dont blame on me.)
