i use a 1/4 inch balanced tip, ring, and sleeve connection to connect to the output channel 1 of the hercules rmx console, this is connected with an xlr going in the input of my jbl powered g2 speakers, where i daisy chain 3 additional jbl powered g2 speakers to complete my setup. i receive very bad distortion and static with this setup. i am in need of assistance for a balance connection, please provide steps on how to connect from hercules console rmx to dj powered speakers without rca connection setup, i am aware that i can use an rca connection from the hercules console rmx and use a 1/4 inch connection to my powered speakers, however i would not be able to daisy chain my others speakers that have xlr balanced conections. your help on this issue will be greatly appreciated.

hello aura,

1) can you try if powering both your computer and the first jbl powered speaker on the same power plug (via a power strip) can suppress the distortion (in case you have a power ground issue)?

2) in case the issue has an an electro-static origin, can you try the following process?
- on the rear panel, remove the screw attaching the aluminium cover (close to the usb port)
- wind up a thin coper or steel cable 360 degrees on the screw, and put the screw again in its original position on the aluminium cover
- wind up the other side of the copper cable to the ground screw on the input 1-2.

aura,

how about if you connect straight from the 1/4 of the rmx to the 1/4 (input 2 & 3) of the speakers ?

what do you mean when you say "i would not be able to daisy chain my others speakers that have xlr balanced conections" ?

i was getting a humming low i cut the ground off my laptop cable and now its quiet.the only thing is if you do you are leaving your laptop ungrounded.whats happening is theres a circuit loop or something that causes it.if you want just saw off the ground pin from your plug at your own risk.
