guys,
ive been hooking up my hercules rmx with korg kaoss pad 3.
the connection goes as follows:
1) rca out of rmx to rca in of kp3.
2) rca out of kp3 to my amplifier.
now, everything works fine, but i cant use my headphones effectively. if i plug my headphones to rmx - no sound. but when i plug it to kp3 it works then again, i cant cue nor mix.
when i use hercules rmx separately my headphone works perfectly.
so, is there a effective way of hooking up hercules rmx with kp3?? without affecting the performance of the headphones??
thanks in advance.
which software are you using the rmx with ?
from what i understand, you would like to use the kp3 to modify/add fx to the output of the rmx and monitor the result, correct ?
ideally, you would be using a mixer to which all your sources (rmx, kp3 and potentially a cd player or tuynrtable) would be connected. if you intend on using the rmx as a mixer, then it really depends if the software your are using can use external source.
hi,
i use virtual dj 5.2 for mac with my rmx. yes u r perfectly correct, i use kp3 to add effects to my mix. but, its kinda sad when i couldnt mix n cue with my headphones when connected to kp3.
is there any settings i should alter??
you could technically send the output signal of the kp3 back in the rmx, but that might lead into feedback problems, and would make you loose a deck, which is not something you want.
i think a cheap hardware solution could be a simple headphone mixer such as this:
http://www.soundware.co.uk/sc/products/artcessories%20macromix
connect both the headphone output of both rmx and kp3, and have the control right at your fingertips.
thanks a ton dj phatso. ill try that out soon n get back to you.
and by the way, can i use iconnex i/o (usb sound card) for that purpose?
i dont really see how, and beside, even if you did, you would need some adapters to convert from headphone jack to rca, etc.
