my chrome book has no c.d slot and i was wondering if there is anyway i can download the software onto a chrome book ?
As indicated on the product page and on the box, the DJControl AIR is compatible with various versions of Windows and Mac OS, but Chrome OS is not supported.
It will not be possible to install and use your DJ controller on this operating system.
It would be actually quite nice to get hercules software and support for linux. Chromebooks are cheap and capable so why not... =)
At the moment, Chrome OS, although a Linux variation, does not support MIDI, so you wouldn't be able to use your DJ controller. However, Chrome (the browser) now include support for MIDI (on Windows and OS X), so maybe it will eventually be available for Chrome OS as well.

I'm having the same problem but now its 2020 so there must be a way now right?
Btw i have an djcontrol instinct from hercules
A little bit has changed since 2015. Chrome now support web midi on Chromebook, you technically, you should be able to use your controller with an app like You DJ:
But that's about it. I'm not aware of any other mixing software that you could use on a Chromebook. They are siply not built for this usage.
