mic input issue

this is a brand new hercules djconsole rmx2 controler...
when i push the button to activate the mic the music lowers and theres a lot of static!
how do i coerrect this?

Please detail:

- The Hercules DJ controller you are using;

- The microphone model and how exactly it is connected to the console;

- Your computer configuration (Operating system, processor, memory, etc);

Regarding the music lowering when enabling the microphone, this is called Talkover Attenuation, and it is enabled by default. You can change this function's parameter from the Hercules DJ Control Panel.
