mk4 not working

hello, i have borrowed hercules mk4 dj console from my friend and i am trying to make it work on my laptop (lenovo ideapad g580, win 7) i have instaled the latest drivers from the internet and even if according to the manuals i have eveyrthing right. the console isnt working. when i connect it to my laptop via usb, the hercules icon on it and a random key just start to blik a little but nothing else. please help. thank you
