need another 2 channels

can you tell me what piece of equipment i ought to get to be able to run 4 tracks. i currently use traktor 2 software on a hercules rmx2.

It depends on what you want to do to control 4 track decks.

The easiest set-up would be to add another 2-deck controller, and assign each of the 4 virtual decks to each controller deck: for example Deck 1 + 4 assigned to this second controller, and deck 2 + 3 to DJConsole Rmx2, or vice versa.

• If you look for basic mixing operations (move in tracks, play, cue, loops) on the 2 extra decks, the second controller can be a basic DJ controller (as DJ Control MP3 LE).

• If you want to do exactly the same controls on the 4 virtual decks, for example scratching, and if you mix alone, it is better to have 2 DJConsole Rmx2 so that you won't be lost in controls, you will have the same gestures, same jog wheels, same rotations angles, same travels for the pitch fader on all decks.

• If you plan to mix on 4 decks with 2 DeeJays, one per controller, the second Deejay can choose the controller (s)he wants as both of you need to synchronize, but you don't need to have the same movements.

You can also update the map of DJConsole Rmx2 for Traktor to control 4 tracks on the same controller, and switch between decks with 1 button ot 1 combination of buttons.
