hi there. having unexpected issues with my hercules 4mx. out of nowhere, it has stopped working. when i plug in the usb, the mic on/off light comes on for two seconds, then fades. after that, nothing. the unit doesnt work at all. i have been having software issues with windows 8 and upgraded to 8.1 last night. that seemed to work fine until today when the hardware ceased working. have a gig tomorrow night. any ideas?

Hello,
It looks like a USB connection issue, either on the USB port or in the USB cable.
Can you test:
1- on another computer
2- with another USB cable
3- on another USB port
to see if it changes anything?
