hey guys,
i have a pretty decently specced netbook - hp mini 210 with 2gb of ram and 1.83ghz processor, and am trying to run traktor pro & my rmx.
installed both, when i plug in my rmx the buttons flash as per normal, and then go off as per normal.
when i run traktor however, most of the leds start flashing which is not what i am used to.
audio is 100% when just playing 1 deck, however when loading a second deck the the audio starts to skip terribly.
i have been through all the asio buffer changes, usb optimisations, removed unnecessary startup programs from msconfig, running on high performance and windows classic theme etc as per her_eng_00364.pdf but this issue wont resolve.
i have uninstalled, & reinstalled traktor & hercules software with no luck.. starting to run out of ideas..
can you guys recommend anything else to check?
thanks
matt
hello,
1) as you seem to have a performance problem:
a) can you check where your cpu and ram resources are used?
click on
- the start button
- run
- type: c:windowssystem32perfmon.exe /res
- click on ok.
- check whether you see a cpu or a ram bottleneck
b) can you run the performance troubleshooter ?
click on
- the start button
- control panel
- troubleshooter
- in system and security, click check for performance issues.
2) if you have a powered usb hub somewhere, it would be worth trying to connect this powered usb hub between the netbook and the rmx.
i used a mac book for a while, then i reaizied even though its fast, its not like an actual laptop, must netbooks are used well for going on the net, or basic computer stuff. what i difference when i bought my mac book pro though, hold crap. how ever i still use my sony vio netbook to broadcast and stuff, and if the mac ever goes down i got a back up. i noticed w the netbook the sound quality sucked. it sounded almost as if i was using vinyl crackly and sometimes lagged out.
hello,
if you have crackles in the sound with the netbook, you should optimise your computer, first in switching off the wifi, and second in following the optimzation guidelines as described here.
yeah max, i didnt really care cause i knew i was buying a macbook 3 days after i got my rmx. but i have to say the sound quality with a macbook pro and the rmx is amazing
