i seem to have a problem with installing the rmx on my new windows 8 system. while all the drivers and console edition install etc seem fine, there seems to be some problem with as the rmx is not being recognised in any way what so ever.

all the documentation ive seen on the virtual dj and hercules sites seems to only refer to installs on systems up to windows 7, so im a bit unclear what to look for in terms of problems.

currently installed:

dj control panel 2012_hdjs_6 (1.0.4.0)

virtual dj control edition (virtual_djc_v5.2.2)

at the moment the rmx doesnt do anything, with no lights appearing

i previously had an issue with the rmx triggering a usb error message on my windows xp laptop.

which said: power surge on hub port
a usb device has malfunctioned and exceeded the power limits of the hub port. you should disconnect the device...

recommendation: to reenable the port, disconnect the hardware and click reset. if you click close, the port will no longer function

im wondering if its a hardware fault on the rmx...some help would really be appreciated.

my laptop specs:

windows 8 specs:

intel core i5-3210m cpu @ 2.50 ghz

ram: 4.00 gb

64 bit operating system, x64-based processor

windows xp specs:

windows xp prof

version 2002/ service pack 3

t2050 @ 1.60 ghz

ram 1.49 gb

First of, do you still have both computer, and if so, does the Rmx still work on the XP system?

As for the new system, what is the maker/model ?

Did you verify if there was any updates (BIOS, USB driver/firmware, chipset drivers) available from the manufacturer's web site?

This is the same behavior on all USB ports ?

Do you have the possibility to use a powered USB hub between the Rmx and the computer to see if this makes a difference ?

And yes, with the most recent drivers, the Rmx is fully compatible with Windows 8 (as indicated on the driver download page).
