splitting headphones and speakers on dj control mp3

hi,

i have an old hercules dj control mp3 that doesnt have any inputs or outputs besides the usb power connection my laptop. i am using virtual dj pro as well. is there any special wires or adaptors or sound card that i need to split the headphones and speakers so i can listen to whats cueing on the one deck through the headphones and still listen to the current song on the speakers?
is there any settings i need to change as well in virtual dj?

Ideally, you would need a soundcard with at least 2 stereo channels (such as a 5.1 soundcard). Here is a document that explains the configuration with the Hercules Muse Pocket, but the concept would apply to any USB 5.1 soundcard:

 

On the other hand, there are splitter adapters available that would allow you to use the laptop audio output, but this means you would have to use a mono signal:
