Hi veryone,
I bought a Inpulse 200 MK 2 (second hand, but it was like brand new) and it used to work fine for a few months, till it stoped being detected by my Mac nor my Windows PC. When I plug the USB cable it lights up, starts the demo mode but in the device manager nothing happens nor you hear the sound of connecting a device (in Windows). I tried to open the firmware updater but since the computer won't detect the device it simply never appears. Same for the control panel. It's like it doesn't exist.
I just paid 45€ for it second hand, but it's a shame it just lasted maybe 2-3 months. And it was working fine when I got it (in its box with, it literaly looked brand new), but as said after 2-3 months without any single issue, fall nor anything out of the ordinary it simply stopped being detected by the computer, becoming useless. When it started failing, moving the USB cable on the USB port would do the trick sometimes, but any minimal movement would make it disconect. Now, it never works, no matter which port I try nor if I slightly move the USB.
It seems it gets energy from the USB port since the demo mode shows up and works, but because it's not being detected I cannot use it nor update the firmware.
BTW: In case you're wondering I do have the drivers installed both on Mac and Windows.
Should I trash it? or is there any other thing I could try?
Sounds like your problem is linked to the USB cable, which lets power through but not the data necessary for the computer to use it.
If you are handy, you could try opening it up and wire a new USB cable.
