Hey, sometimes the platters seem to pick up touching like minor scratching. I adjusted buffer size for my laptop and didn't help much. Anyone have this issue?

Please understand we do not see your computer operating system & software so writing a detailed technical description is probably the best to get an efficient answer.
As you talk of buffer size, maybe it means your computer is a PC and you talk of ASIO buffer?
If then, I suggest you may try to increase the USB buffer size:
1) close the Dj software
2) right-click on the icon of Hercules DJ control panel in Windows notification area
3) click on Advanced Audio Settings
4) in the advanced audio settings panel, set a bigger USB buffer size, as 2ms.
