i just wanted to check in and introduce myself.  im steve sharp, and a product specialist for hercules d.j. products.  ive conducted trainings and product demos for hercules d.j. products since 2003, starting with the hercules d.j. console (mk1) at the namm show in 2003, and every year since then, and as the product line has evolved.  you can find me on youtube, where ive been taped showing the mk2 and the rmx at these shows.  (i cant watch them, im too critical of my own demos).  im a working mobile d.j., and im not a "techie" by any measure.  id be happy to assist any of our users in any way that i can, from the perspective of a working mobile d.j.

lets get this party started!

Hey!:D Great video on youtube!

I have a problem with my Hercules MK2.

I have tried to connect it:P, but I didn't seem to could.

I connect it via the USB hub, and if thats all, that you have to do, it doesn't work.

Do I need other cabels, to stick in somewhere, before it works?

hey,

just give me more details about your problem. we will figure out together what´s going on exactly and we´ll manage to solve the situation 🙂

- are you trying to use your MK2 on a Mac (what OS) or PC (XP/Vista)?

- how did you try to install your device (CD, online drivers, online software..)?

- what´s happening there exactly? did you receive error messages, did you have problems configuring the software?

waiting for your answers..

Im trying to use it on Windows Vista, and i started to my devices (drivers?) with the CD I got with the Hercules MK2 machine.
When i realised tat it didn't work, I tried with the drivers (devices?) from hercules' support site, but it still didn't work.

I came to the conclusion that it was something with the firmware.

My firmware where on something, not likely any others, so I tried to fix it, on the manual way, as a last solution, but it didn't work!

So I'm saying: "Damn!"

just try this and let us know if problem will be solved:

1. disconnect the console from the PC

2. download these drivers and install them:

    ftp://ftp.hercules.com/pub/webupdate/DJCSeries/2008_HDJS_2.exe

    or

    http://ftp.hercules.com/pub/webupdate/DJCSeries/2008_HDJS_2.exe

3. during the installation you will be prompted to connect the console to the PC, just do it and let the installation continue

4. after you can check if the device was really installed & recognized correctly: under Device Manager / Audio, Video & Game controllers look for the following components:

    - DJ Console MK2

    - DJ Console MK2 Bulk

    - DJ Console MK2 ASIO

    - DJ Console MK2 MIDI

(let me know if all is correctly there)

Ok.. if there all is set up correctly we can start configure the software. What sofware (VDJ or Traktor) did you get with the device?

Under Audio, Video and Game controllers, there is only:

- DJ Console MK2

- DJ Console MK2 Bulk

- and Hercules MK2 MIDI.

But under Audio, Video and Game controllers, there is another one, named:

Hercules DJ Devices.

In that, there is:

Hercules DJ Console Mk2 ASIO.

Is this right? I'dont think so, but for to be completely sure, is it?

yes, your console is correctly installed (of course if there is no question or exclamation marks).

What you all say is correct, if no ! in device manager, then your console is installed as it should. Are there any lights that remain turned on on you console after plugging it in and having it recognized by the PC?

What info do you see in DJ Console series Control panel / about? Have you managed to upgrade Virtual DJ to version 3.4.1? Unless you do that, your console will not work properly...

When I plug it in, there isn't any if the lights, turned on. Actually, I haven't seen, any of the lights, light until now!

In the DJ Console Series Control Panel / About, there stands this:

Package: 2.HDJS.2008

Firmware: 1.0.0.13
Driver: 3.9.0.0
DJ API: 2.0.15.8
CPL: 2.0.2.0

NeedHelp could you tell if this is the way your console behaved from the beginning, or if this proclem occured only recently? Did you use it succefully on other computer, perhaps with another driver version? Did you try to change the USB cable?

It has behaved like this, FROM the start, and its very anoying.

I've tried to play with it on another computer, but it didn't work there either. I were told, by other people to downgrade firmware / using another driver from 2006, but again, it didn't light, and weren't responsable!

I've not tried to change the USB cable, how should I do? There were only won in the package, from Hercules.

Can anyone help, I'm on the net for hours trying to research how to make this work, m not that great with computers but i can get by, if someone can help me and put it into simple terms i'd be forever gratefull, i had so many problems with getting a MK2 (ebay scam) and ive been trying for a week,

I am having the exact same problem.  Have had mk2 for 4 months and have NEVER been able to use it.  Tech support has stopped returning my emails,  and when I call their phone # the phone doesn't even ring anymore...just dead silence.  EVERY LIGHT on the controler is on, comp (vista) tells me I it needs to upgrade firmware....have done it automatically AND manually....with no luck at all.
