Hello Frank/DJ Phoenix,
Welcome to the forum.
DJ controllers built-in microphone is by default set as a hardware pass-through, so the microphone sound is mixed in the master output without going through the DJ software, as you hear it (the benefit is to avoid the software latency).
So to record the microphone input in your mix, please refer to the explanation I gave here 7 years ago with the name Maxdjack.
Thanks
I gonna try that π Didn't find that maybe because I searched with the dj air+
For activating/deactivating the micro (I used for that an external USB Micro) I simply changed the mapping for the magic button as the mic button from the Hercules doesn't send a signal to the PC.
Hello Franck,
Here is the result of a test in today's VirtualDJ 2022.
1) In VirtualDJ > Settings > Audio
- in Hardware, select HERCULES DJCONTROL AIRPLUS
- In inputs, check Microphone
- As Mic, select "DJControl AIR+ ASIO (ASIO)" : In 1 &2
2) Then in VirtualDJ main interface, display the Master Mixer, and
in the MIC columns,
- set the MIC VOL to the max
- Set ON the MIC in this column, to hear the MIC,
- activate the REC button of the Mic (so that recording includes the MIC)
in the Master column
- Set the Master Vol to the max
- Set ON the master to hear also the master mix
- activate the REC button on the Master columns (to record also VirtualDJ Master)
and then you can Record when you want.
If you can use a mic connected to DJControl AirPlus, the audio quality is better than most USB microphones' (I used a cheap 600-Ohm dynamic microphone and the sound is really good with DJControl Air Plus).
Great
Thank you for all that info
I gonna try that out π
