Hello,

Have you just called Hercules hot line?
The phone number, as mentionned here, is 08450800942 for the UK, charge at local rate (so if you have an internet box with free phone, it means the hot line is free).

- If you didn't call the hot line, saying you get the worst customer service from Hercules while you don't contact the customer service is embarrassing,
- If you have called the hot line, then why don't you precise what they have told you.

Dear Maxdjack

yes i have called the hotline....there advice stick all off my music on the MAC's hard drive instead of using the external HDD...NOT POSSIBLE.

I then get told on here to delete the Djuced folder.....in fact that makes it worse and it crashed after 3 min of playing music to which i have stated on the thread i have started....as yet i am still awaiting a response. Add to that the dam controller has just died and is non responsive in any software and is non recognisable and in fact doesn't even register on some of my computers

now if you guys can get the Djuced software working and seeing as there is a few of us on this forum and on the web in gerneral who can't maybe you could tell us mere individuals HOW or is that a trade secret...because when i buy somthing i expect it to do what says on the tin.....unfortunatly Djuced does far from what it says on the tin.

And i find your reply very condesending......do you take me for some sort of idiot that would automatically rant on here with out ringing the helpline first..

I can here in search of help and if that is the best you can do....well there is no hope!

Hello felixx1416,

1) A forum is a community area, where we exchange information
- you don't share enough technical information: you didn't write that you had called Hercules hot line, or that you had deleted the Djuced folder and which Djuced version you had before, or that your song library was on an external hard drive, you provide not enough technical information to solve your technical problem,
- you express mainly frustration without providing enough in-depth technical details,
- a forum is not intended to express frustration and complain, its aim is to use at best hardware & software, so your complaining without providing enough technical information is useless,
- we don't see your computer so getting no clear, detailed, complete technical information from you means we cannot help you, while seeing your computer when you connect the controller may have given directions to solve your problem.

2) 90% of computer technical issues require technical details to identify the issues, so
- complaining but not providing technical information is a waste of energy: if your posts are only negative, you get limited answers if any,
- most advanced technical users answer to post with technical contents, posts from visitors we can help, while posts as yours get limited answers as its lack of technical contents means you use the forum to express your frustration instead using it to get help,
- providing detailed in-depth technical information could bring help.
=> if you are furious, it is better calm down first prior to posting a message, since a structured and efficient technical post requires your being calm.

3) Example of more efficient way to organize technical information

a) Fill your profile (in My Space on this forum) with your equipment, list in your profile,
- MacBook model ?
- Mac OS 0.6.8
- Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz
- Memory 4 GB
- integrated HDD: capacity, and how much free space
- External HDD: capacity, and how much free space
- Audio library size (how many tracks)
- Audio formats: for example MP3 @ 192Kbps
- Driver version for DJControl Air
- Version of Djuced
- and select DJControl Air in your profile.
You posted in another discussion some information on your Mac, but updating your profile with this information is more efficient than expecting forum visitors will seek in several discussion to understand what you refer to.

b) Be objective and precise
For example "the dam controller has just died" is not an objective and precise piece of information.
Example of ways to write it with more useful information
DJ Control Air is no longer detected by Djuced.
- What occurs when connecting DJ Control Air to the computer: do you still see the lighting sequence in the buttons just after connecting DJ Control Air?
- What does DJ Control Air control panel display as information: does it detect or not that DJ Control Air is connected?
(For example, on my Mac in 10.6, I see in the about information
Package 4.24
Firmware v 1.0.0.21
Server v 11.71
DJ Api  V8.1)
- Did you test on several USB ports?
- Did you test with a powered USB hub?
- Has you MacBook USB 2 or USB 3 ports?

3) If you find my reply is condescending, then you may understand a forum is not a hot line.

I don't think my reply was condescending, but I was indeed more than fed up with your posting complains with no useful technical contents, and opening a new discussion of complain with even less technical contents, no structured information, not even a clear title (Last Straw= the controller or software name is not in the tile).
This forum should help visitors to mix:
- if you need technical help, you must provide technical information,
- if you just want to complain and shout, you should not go on a technical forum.

The forum is not the customer support area of the manufacturer or the distributor, it is a community area so:
- the forum is not my job, DJ Control Air customers support is not my job,
- I post answers when I want to, but I don't answer if I dislike the post,
- forums are leisure for me, when they have an interesting contents,
- if you post a message of complain with no technical contents, it is just useless, but if you duplicate it by opening a new discussion with the same complain but even less technical information, it is pollution,
=> If you want to solve a technical problem via a forum, post a message describing in details your technical set, your issues, how you identify your technical issue, the contents of the error messages, what you did technically before the issue, and remember that a forum has no customers but visitors, so if your post is negative, nobody will help you, as negative people are not nice to help.

A forum is not a hot line:
- hot line people are nice and friendly technical specialists answering positively even when receiving unfriendly calls,
- forum visitors are free, so we answer friendly to the posts we like, but as posts of complains are often unattractive because they are unfriendly, they often get no useful answer.

If you cannot bear the forum freedom, or if you prefer complaining than solving your issue, or if you find it too difficult to gather in 1 or 2 posts all the detailed technical information in 1 discussion (2 discussions on the same issues = pollution), I suggest you call the hot line.
If you are not at ease with technical information, I suggest you call the hot line and suggest using Teamviewer, for the person on the other side of the internet to see the technical settings on your computer.
