yo, sup guys! im vic and im from brazil, and tech sucks down here... lol... so, im a big big noob, and i got this hercules dj control mp3, yeah the first version... lol... i knooooww... its like the most crappy one... anywho... lol... i didnt really enjoy using it with virtual dj 4.2(maybe bc im a big noob?!) and i ended up getting traktor pro, which feels a lot better to me!!! thing is... this thing doesnt have a sound card in it, right? so i cant like preview it on headphones... i use both an imac and a macbook... so, i prolly have to get something like and external sound card, right? that takes usb in... so... can you guys help me? i have a friend coming down from the us on the 19th and ill probably ask him to bring me something like that... so which would be an easy/smart choice? also, not thinking about something too much expensive... since i payed 250us dollars for the controller... yeah... tell me about it.. lol... and not too big, so my friend can bring it with no problems...

pleaaaaaaase i beg for you guys help and knowledge! =d

thanks in advance!
vic

Indeed, to use any DJ applications, you need a soundcard that has at least 4 audio outputs.

Here are a few examples of soundcards that are recommanded for DJ (and all should be available in the US)

If you want someting simple, the native Instruments Audio 2 DJ is probably the best deal ( and you know it will work with Traktor...)

Hello! And thanx for the response! =D
Also... Well, the Controller is by USB... Aren't these soundcards connections like RCA cables? How would do it? I mean, the one thing I want is to be able to listen what I'm playing on say, the second Deck, while people are only hearing my first one, so I know exactly what I'm mixing and what people will hear, as I will be able to hear the second Deck on my headphones... It seems even the second version of DJ CONTROL MP3 has this headphones out... So can I do this just by getting a soundcard? And how can I set it up? Sorry! I'm such a noob! =( For now, I'm doing fine with Traktor+the Controller, but the mixes sometimes don't fit perfectly, because I don't know what part of the other song is gonna play, bc it goes directly to speakers...

Also, with this soundcard, to help me with the controller, can I also use it for high quality recording, as in making a home studio(since I play guitar and Electronic Drums)?

Thanks SO MUCH!!! =D

Also, is there a difference from this    http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/products/dj/audio-2-dj/
and this http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/product/Native-Instruments-GUITAR-RIG-MOBILE?sku=581836
???
Because I can't seem to find the DJ one... Considering I play guitar and drums it would be cool if they were the same, just different software.

Visually, It looks to be the same product, but there are actually much differences:

- The Audio 2 DJ has 4 output channels, which as I've mentioned, is necessary for DJ application. However, it doesn't have any inputs.

- Guitar Rig Mobile have only 1 stereo output, which means you can only connect 1 set of speaker or headphone at a time, preview is then not possible. It also has 1 stereo intput.

To answer your other questions,

- The Audio 2 DJ comes with cables, allowing your to connect different types of speakers (RCA, 1/4" jack)

- yes, you would be able to use it with other music softwares

Woah, you're of much help!!! =D
Thanks a lot!
So, it'd be a LOT better to get the DJ one and be happy with it! HAHA.
Any ideas where I can buy it on the US? Thing is, gonna buy, send it to my friend's house, who lives in the US, and he's gonna bring it to me! =D
So basically, what I'm gonna do for djing and previewing track is: continue using my controller on the USB, and connect the Headphones to the soundcard, right?! =D And is the sound card, what, firewire? If so, fits perfect with my macs! =D

Thanks again! Learning lots form you! =D
