hi, im planning to buy an rmx this week but i wanted to know something.
when using traktor or any virtual dj version, can you use the jog wheels for manipulating an effect for example filter. by moving the wheel it gives more filter or less? can you do that? also can you use the jog wheels as if using a cdj and its slows down the pitch or speeds up? thank you in advance
also the headphones are only for listenning one chanel o both, can i do anything else?
hello guhjoh,
1) dj console rmx jog wheels send midi controls, so they send the kind of commande you map in your dj software if you map it for it.
a) for example, in virtualdj 5 djc, the jog wheels sends 4 kinds of commands:
- when the audio is not playing, turning the jog wheels browses inside the audio track
- when the audio is playing, if the scratch mode is off, turning the jog wheel slows down or speeds up the pitch, and if the scratch mode in on, the jog wheel are used to scratch
- if you keep the up or down buttons pressed down, then when you turn the jog wheels, the jog wheel browse in the audio library
- if you keep an effect pressed down, when you turn the jog wheel, the jog wheel modulates the effect (turns the filter button if the modulation defined in virtualdj is a filter, turns the volume of the effect if the modulation defined by virtualdj is a volume).
b) in virtualdj pro 6, the mapping is different but if you want the same mapping, you can use cioce map.

2) dj console rmx headphones output is driven by the potentiometer cue to mix:
- in cue position, you get in the headphones the sound of the deck you select with the cue select transport buttons
- in mix position, you get in the headphones the same sound as what you get in the mixer, the mix you generate with the crossfader and volume faders
- in the positions between cue and mix, you get in the headphones a combination of the preview and the mix.
also the headphones are only for listenning one chanel o both, can i do anything else?
