good to see another user getting down and dirty with the traktor programming! there are so much possibilities, once you know your way around, it opens up a lot of new ideas.
i agree with you that the midi profile on the support site is pretty basic, but thats the point: provide the main functions which you can adapt to your style and needs.
as for the modifiers (and midi programming in trakor pro), i would highly recommand to anyone to first read the manual ( which is very detailed), and for more examples and ideas, the document available at this page:
