Genuinely feel like I'm losing my mind. This controller refuses to be picked up by anything except Serato DJ Lite. Strange part is my computer recognizes it as a midi device everywhere AND somehow DJ Pro can detect it ONLY WHEN MY MK2 IS ALSO PLUGGED IN?? Of course it still won't actually let me use the mk3 but idk what to do. The "drivers" section for the controller doesn't even have any Mac software so I'm not sure where to turn. Even the supposed instructions it said it came with don't actually exist. Is this thing even real? HELP.
macOS Checklist for a DJ Controller That Is Only Partially Recognized
If:
the controller appears as a MIDI device,
Serato DJ Lite works,
Serato DJ Pro only recognizes it when another controller is connected,
and no Mac drivers are visible,
then the hardware is very likely not completely dead.
The problem usually lies with:
macOS Security,
Firmware,
the USB connection,
Serato compatibility,
Rosetta/Apple Silicon,
or a missing license activation.
Hello WireOne,
Welcome to the forum.
If you can provide technical details on what you use and which information you look for, the answers you receive may be more precise.
The mac computer I have just used to test DJControl Inpulse 200 MK3 in macOS is
- a MacBook Pro 14" 2023, with macOS 26 (Tahoe 26.2),
- with Hercules driver package 6.55 installed,
- with Serato DJ Lite 4.0.7,
- with Serato DJ Pro 4.0.7 (upgrade licence activated)
- with DJUCED 6.5.2.
1) Serato DJ Pro
DJControl Inpulse 200 MK3 is a Serato DJ Lite controller, so to be detected in Serato DJ Pro, it requires:
- either a Serato DJ Pro upgrade licence,
- or a Serato DJ Pro hardware connected at the same time and unlocking the MIDI detection.
I have a Serato DJ Pro upgrade licence activated on my account + macBook Pro, and DJControl Inpulse 200 MK3 is properly detected.
If Serato DJ Pro does not detect DJControl Inpulse 200 MK3 on your computer, please confirm your version of Serato DJ Pro is 4.0.7 (older builds have no support for the DJ controller), and also confirm you have a Serato DJ Pro upgrade licence on your computer.
2) DJUCED
DJUCED 6.5.2 detects my DJControl Inpulse 200 MK3 on my MacBook Pro. Please confirm the version you have used is DJUCED 6.5.2.
3) Drivers
DJControl Inpulse 200 MK3 needs drivers only in Windows (as Serato uses DJControl Inpulse 200 MK3 ASIO drivers), as it is a system compliant MIDI and Core Audip hardware needing no macOS drivers.
The 6.55s mac driver package (here https://support.hercules.com/en/product/djcontrolinpulse200mk3-en/) installs only a control panel (to run test and read the firmware version).
The 6.55s driver package for DJControl Inpulse 200 MK3 in macOS has become visible on Hercules support website only on friday so I understand it was not visible at the moment you posted your message.
4) Manual
Hercules support website has the "User manual" available on https://support.hercules.com/en/product/djcontrolinpulse200mk3-en/.
If you cannot see the user manual, please precise your macOS language as there may a specific issue in some languages.
If you mean something else about "the supposed instructions it said it came with don't actually exist", please explin what what you mean.
You can also find Serato manual on https://serato.com/dj/hardware/hercules-djcontrol-inpulse-200-mk3.
