[Bug Report] Hot Cue names are permanently truncated and saved with "..." depending on screen resolution

Software & Hardware Setup:

  • Software: DJUCED (Latest Version)

  • Controller: Hercules DJControl Inpulse 200 MK3 / Any Setup

  • Environment: Multi-screen / Different screen resolutions (e.g., Desktop Monitor vs. Laptop Screen)

Bug Description

When editing or creating a Hot Cue name on a smaller screen resolution (or smaller window size), DJUCED permanently saves the truncated string containing ellipsis (...) instead of retaining the full text string under the hood.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Scenario A (Editing on a small screen):

    • On a large display (e.g., desktop monitor), create a Hot Cue and label it "vocal intro". Since there is enough button space, it displays completely.

    • Move DJUCED to a smaller screen (e.g., laptop display). Due to reduced button width, DJUCED visually displays "vocal in...".

    • Click to edit the name of that Hot Cue on the smaller screen.

    • Issue: The text field loads "vocal in..." instead of the original "vocal intro". If saved, the original name is permanently overwritten and lost.

  2. Scenario B (Creating on a small screen):

    • On a small screen, create a Hot Cue with a long label (e.g., "vocal intro").

    • Because it does not fit the small button width, DJUCED saves it literally as "vocal in...".

    • Move DJUCED back to a large display where the button is wider.

    • Issue: The label still shows "vocal in..." with the ellipsis hardcoded into the text, rather than expanding to show full text.

Expected Behavior

Truncation with ... should be purely a visual UI rendering effect when space is limited. The actual string variable stored in track metadata/database should always retain the full text (e.g., "vocal intro"), regardless of screen size, window scaling, or resolution.

Thank you for looking into this bug and for your continuous work on DJUCED!
