crossfader curve problem

hello, i am having issues with the crossfader, specifically when on the "mix" setting. the default curve is very steep so when i activate the fader, the volume on the playing deck drops substantially and inversely when i fade out to the other side the incoming tracks volume surges up very abruptly. i tried to set the curves in serato dj pro but these options are grayed out. is there a way to fix the curves on the fader? volume drops and surges when mixing make the device pretty much unusable for live playing.

thanks
vic (macbook pro, serato dj pro)

Hello,

Welcome to the forum.

1) Please complete your computer profile in (My Space > My Profile)
In "Hercules Equipment In Use", check the name of your DJ controller.
In "Software In use", check your DJ software name, Serato.
in "Describe your equipment" field
- brand and model CPU RAM (as for example Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Carbon 13ITL5 13,3" Core i5 16 GB RAM)
- Type of USB port (for example USB 3.0 Type A, USB-C, USB hub powered by a power adapter...)
- Environment (for example Windows 11 64-bit Version 22H2 build 22638.1000.0)
- version of DJ software (for example Serato DJ Pro 3.0.4)
- version of DJ driver (for example DJSeries 6.44s)

2) As you did not precise the name of your DJ controller, I am not sure your DJ controller is DJControl Inpulse 500, but if it is Inpulse 500, a 3-position switch between the 2 volume faders lets you choose 3 crossfader settings:

  • Mix on Left: slow curve in Serato
  • Scratch on middle: fast curve in Serato
  • Off on right: disable crossfader
