Hello,
I picked up one of these Starlight controllers at a thrift shop and soon discovered the reason why it was there: the crossfader is very inconsistent. Without applying pressure in a certain direction, it behaves as though it is directly in the middle, allowing any sounds to pass through. I have peeked inside the crossfader potentiometer and see that the stem is quite loose in the housing that slides it along the track and it looks like the wiper does not make good contact with the carbon tracks anymore. I saw that in this thread: https://community.hercules.com/community/djcontrol-inpulse-200/how-to-replace-the-crossfader/ "How to Replace the Crossfader" for the Impulse 200, a part number for the potentiometer and instructions on how to replace it were sent to that post. I am handy with electronics and would be comfortable soldering a new potentiometer to this unit, but I simply request the same information as the Impulse 200 for the Starlight: what is the model of the potentiometer used for the crossfader on this controller? And can the instructions to carry out the calibration be sent to me too?
Thank you!
Hello Amedj,
Welcome on the forum area.
DJControl Starlight crossfader is the same as on DJControl Inpulse 200, it is Taiwan Alpha RA4544F-201-15C1-B10K, and as I answered on the other discussion on DJC Inpulse 200, you may order it to Hercules technical support on https://support.hercules.com/en/contact-en/ or get it somewhere else or order a similar fader on from other manufacturers, if you know electronics, you may read the specifications of this crossfader on https://www.taiwanalpha.com/en/products/48.
I have forgotten the calibration process of Starlight (I suppose it is the same process as Inpulse series, but I must to recheck first) so I will send you a message later with the calibration process.
